Our Snow Day

One day last week as Brandon's alarm went off and he went out to get ready and get in the shower he came back in and said "HEATHER! there is SNOW everywhere! a good 2 inches at least!" I laid there and thought to my self does he really know what two inches is?? that's A LOT of snow!

 but when I woke up and saw for my self I realised he DID know what he was talking about! but he had underestimated it was even more! I looked to see this!!

 We could NOT believe it! it had snowed in the night and no one even knew it was coming!  We had a great snow day.  William enjoyed it! He went through several outfit changes. Because we live in St. George My kids aren't equipped with snow gear. His hands would get freezing cold, and he didn't get that if he touched the snow it would get his mittens wet! we changed them often, and changed his clothes a couple times and then went back out.  He couldn't get enough of it!

 William thought it was his personal job to uncover everything.  He found his T-ball and bat under the snow. and was so excited and proud of his self, he was like "MOM!, look!" haha
 Lucas got to come out and see the snow for a little bit before he went down for a nap. :)
 William had just watched an episode on "how-to" make a snow angel on Special Agent Oso the week before.  He would run in the powder and through him self back on the snow.  and then make a snow angel! I said what are you doing? he said making a snow angel! I said did Oso teach you that? and he said yes. ahaha!! too funny!

 Tiffany and her kids came over bright and early that morning and they all had a great time making a "whole happy family" of snow men.
My dad's snow man.  I liked his smile the best.

lucas {8 months}

I am past due for this post, and I have been composing it in my head for the past two weeks or so! I don't want to just skip this month because it was a very big month for Lucas!  I would totally regret it,  and I love looking back at William's monthly posts to see what he did and when. So here goes

{In month 7}

* Lucas pulled him self up to a standing position for the first time. (it was in his crib)
* He started army crawling.
* He started saying mama.
* He got his first tooth.
* He participated in his first Christmas. :)
* He learned how to clap his hands. and does it all the time.
* I started actually feeding him a lot more solids. (instead of just nursing)  I was pretty bad at it before, he likes his fruits now. and is a good eater.
* He still nurses a lot.
* He can drink apple juice out of a sippy cup now.
* He bounces really well in the jumperoo.
* He plays well with his toys.
* He is very entertained from his brother, you can just tell how much he adores him.
* He slept through the night until he was about 6 months old, and now isn't! I really want to sleep train him but the fact that all 4 of us share a room doesn't make it the easiest fix.  I have been letting him cry it out for his naps though and some days he does pretty good, others not as much.
* He is so much fun laughs and smiles a lot and is generally pretty well natured.
* His mo hawk is getting super tall these days, and He probably needs his first hair cut. everyone comments on his hair, the color, the length
* He doesn't really spit up anymore like he used to.
* His skin isn't as sensitive as it was when he was first born either. I guess he just kind of out grew it.

Sisters

"life's too short to wait for your hair to grow" -Ali Vincent (from the biggest loser)

We took this pic at Sunday dinner.  We were taking a few pics of our new hair for my sis in law. So we decided to take one of all us sisters too. I realise this pic doest really show our hair very well... there were different ones. My Sister in law works at Salon Sienne and her name is Andrea Trask.  If you are thinking about getting extensions you should call her up! me, Mallory, and Brittany all got them.  It's been nice because my hair was totally in the awkward stage!

SORRY

To the boy I accidentally pummeled with water as I drove through the puddles along bloomington Drive last night!
It was a total accident, I didn't even see you there on the side of the road until it was too late.
I felt soooo bad.
sorry.

Christmas Morning

This was our first Christmas morning with a child old enough to really appreciate Christmas and get excited about "Santa" We woke up and Brandon said "William Santa came last night" and William responds with yeah I saw him I said Hi Santa. hahaha it was funny! so we got up and had Christmas morning with our little family in our room, (at 9:00) and then we went out and joined my parents and then all my siblings came over.  it was my family's year for Christmas this year, we met at my moms at about 10:30-11 and all 12 adults and 8 grandchildren filled the family room and we opened gifts.  It was more chaotic and louder then it has been in the past but still fun!
 look at that face, he is really getting into it.
 all helping brother
 checking to see who's gift it was, he read it and says "willyum"
 opening his magnet writing board. a little excited.. love it!
 his first Christmas, not as professional at opening presents as his big brother.
 doo dis... love his little swollen face he has when he wakes up in the morning!
 William opening his tricycle from me and Brandon. he has LOVED it.  (I picked up the little beauty at DI for 2 whole dollars.) It has 10 different buttons that make noises, a revving engine, a key turning, radio music, you name it.  and they all work.  I meant to spray paint it and make it look good as new but it had been raining here for like weeks! every day I planned on doing it it was raining. but he still loves it!
 William got puzzles from my parents.
 Brandon and I got a dutch oven, a cooking stove thing, camping chairs and a new mattress topper for our bed! I was soooo happy to see that one!
 William got linking-logs from my parents... they have been a big hit. he loves them almost as much as Brandon and I.
 Sidney playing with Williams new magnet writing board. ALL the kids (old and young alike) all got great use out of it.
 Beckham got a bike from my parents, it was so funny when he opened it and said "oh just what I wanted" loved it!

one of the high lights of the day was one of Andrea's gifts.  My mom came across on of my brothers old soccer pictures. So she wrapped it up for Andrea to open on Christmas.  It is a soccer picture that was turned into a button pin that you could attach to your shirt or bag or something? really who makes button pins out of their pictures in the first place? (I'm guessing it came with his picture package) she opened it and none of us knew it was coming! it was hilarious! haha! we all got a really good laugh, except Jason, he didn't love it. and tried to steal it from Andrea.

After opening gifts we all got in the trailer and visited my grandparents that live a round the corner.

Becks and Lucas are bestest buddies... Lucas was so chill and content while Beckham was holding him.

musical talents

He didn't get it from me... It HAS to be the Stott side.  They are all very talented when it comes to music of all kinds.
The other night william was kind enough to share his talents with us...
He cracks me up.  He has to have his music so he can look off of it and play, and sing, and the last note always has to be drawn out very dramatically. Where has he even seen this before? no one in our house even plays the piano?  haha... it's a very quick video.

this just in...

Golf cart bridge from the SunBrook Golf course has lodged under the new Valley View Dr bridge.  Contractors are moving large equipment in to prepare to remove the Golf Cart bridge at this time.

bringing back any memories?

These were the pictures from the flood in 04 or 05? whenever it was... of my parents back yard... this morning my dad and I went out and surveyed the area... lets just say if the city hadn't put all the work into what they did last time to prevent this from ever happening again it would already be way bad!! but so far it's ok and we aren't filling bags with sand just yet. but by the sound of things, and the look of things we may be soon.

and they said it was a 500 year thing?!?!
